. 19 July 2000 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 96-0232 <br /> Page 3 of 29 <br /> • <br /> - Collect water sample from Baker Tank (EW-1) <br /> • 22 June 2000 - Collect depth to groundwater measurements in wells MW-1 thru MW-13, <br /> - Collect water sample from Baker Tank (EW-1) <br /> • 28 June 2000 - June monthly groundwater monitoring and sampling event, <br /> - Collect water sample from Baker Tank (EW-1) <br /> 2 0 INITIATION OF INTERIM REMEDIATION <br /> During the quarter, several pieces of equipment were placed in selected monitoring wells to initiate <br /> site remediation and to monitor aspects of remediation efficiency <br /> On 02 April 2000, Clark Well, Inc of Stockton, California installed a Grundfos pump in ground <br /> water extraction well EW-1 A generalized diagram of the pump and well design is presented in <br /> • Figure 3 <br /> . 2 1 GRUIVDFOS PUMP INSTALLATION PROCEDURES <br /> A 4-mch diameter, 113 horsepower stainless steel Grundfos Model 5S 5 GPM pump was installed <br /> at a depth of approximately 29 feet below surface grade(bsg) A 4-inch diameter by 4-foot long steel <br /> pipe "packet" surrounds the pump and Is utilized to help cool the pump motor The pump and packet <br /> were installed to a depth of 31 feet bsg The pump utilizes a 1-inch diameter outlet fitted with <br /> schedule 80 poly vinyl chloride (PVC) piping routed to surface grade At surface grade a flow <br /> restricting device was installed to reduce the flow rate from 3 gallons per minute (GPM) to 2 GPM <br /> Schedule 80 PVC was installed from the flow restnctxng device into a 5,900-gallon above-ground <br /> Baker storage tank, located adjacent to EW-1 <br /> 22 INSTALLATION OF TRANSDUCERS <br /> On 13 April 2000, AGE installed dedicated transducers In wells MWA, EW-1, and MW-4 to <br /> monitor and document ground water drawdown as an indicator for plun-te control The dedicated <br /> transducers were utilized to quantify physical ground water influences as a result of deployment and <br /> operation of the Grundfos pump In EW-1 <br /> On 14 April 2000, a drawdown test of the ground water In the First Zone (5-30 feet bsg) was <br /> Advanced CeoEn%ironmental,Inc <br />
