r <br /> 08 March 2000 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 96-0232 <br /> Page 6 of 11 <br /> • Between 60 and 70 feet southeast of the domestic drinking water well at 14749 Thornton <br /> Road (Three B's Truck Plaza) to charactenze lithology, potential contaminant migration <br /> pathways,to assess the vertical extent of MTBE-impacted ground water downgradient of the <br /> UST area, and <br /> • Between 150 and 200 feet southeast of ground water monitonng well MW-2 to screen for <br /> potential MTBE-impact to municipal drinking water wells (Flag City No 1) located some <br /> 700 feet southeast of the Flag City Chevron site <br /> Five CPT bonngs shall be advanced to approximately 150 feet bsg utilizing a 25-ton truck-mounted <br /> CPT drill ng equipped with 2-inch diameter hollow-stem rods, however, total depths of bonngs may <br /> vary according to hydrogeologic conditions encountered dunng dnlling activities <br /> Soil samples will be collected at lithology changes; grab ground water samples will be collected in <br /> intervals of porous and permeable matenal Selected soil and ground water samples will be analyzed <br /> by a State of California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for the following <br /> constituents <br /> . • MTBE, TBA, TAME, di-isopropyl ether(DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), ethylene <br /> dibromide (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) by EPA Method 8260B <br /> Laboratory reports for soil analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control <br /> (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with <br /> findings and recommendations <br /> 33 CLUSTERED MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND DEVELOPMENT <br /> AGE proposes to install five "clustered" ground water monitoring wells at the site as part of site <br /> assessment activities Proposed"clustered"well locations are illustrated in Figure 2, the total number <br /> of"clustered"monitoring wells for each group, screen intervals and total depth of each "clustered" <br /> well will be based on data collected from the CPT soil bonngs Well locations and screen intervals <br /> are proposed to provide definition of the vertical extent of dissolved MTBE Morutonng of the wells <br /> should provide data to assess vertical and honzontal extent and migration of the dissolved MTBE <br /> plume Proposed monitonng well locations are illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> Based on the MTBE-impact encountered in Flag City Chevron shallow ground water monitonng <br /> wells and in the Rocky's Restaurant domestic dnnking water well,AGE proposes"clustered"ground <br /> water wells in the following locations <br /> Advanced GeoEmironmental,Inc <br />
