31 August 2005
AGE-NC Project No 96-0232
Analytical results of extraction wells are summarized in Table 7
Laboratory analysis of P&T Influent water samples were initially as high as 1,000 µg/l in November
2000, however, during the P&T operational period (November 2000 to August 2004), MTBE
Influent concentrations generally decreased below 100 µg/l by June 2001 and were detected below
13 µg11(maximum contaminant level) on five separate occasions in September 2001,March 2002,
August 2002, September 2002 and November 2002 P&T performance data is summarized in Table
9, a plot of MTBE Influent concentrations versus time is in Appendix K Due to the lack of cost
effectiveness and due to the potential for the New West Petroleum ground water plume to be drawn
onto the Flag City Chevron site, P&T remediation activities were suspended on 17 August 2004
6.0. WATER WELL RECEPTOR SURVEY
In January 1997, AGE conducted a sensitive receptor survey to locate potential vertical conduits
within a 2,500-foot radius of the site Drinking water near the site is currently supplied by the San
Joaquin County municipal well system During the receptor survey, two San Joaquin County
operational municipal water wells(CSA Nos 1 &2)were located approximately 1,600 feet and 700
• feet, respectively, southeast of the site Municipal water wells CSA-1 and CSA-2 are maintained by
the San Joaquin County Utility Maintenance District
One domestic water well servicing Rocky's Restaurant (14659 N Thornton Road) was located
approximately 150 feet southwest of the site, due to MTBE-impact,the Rocky's Restaurant domestic
water well was abandoned in March 2002
A second domestic water well servicing Three B's Truck Plaza (14749 N Thornton Road) was
located approximately 450 feet west-southwest of the site It is AGE's understanding that the well
has recently become impacted by MTBE(June 2005)and by total coliform(March and June 2005)
AGE has been notified by the property owners of the Three B's Truck Plaza that it is their intentions
to abandon the domestic water well in the near future and connect to the San Joaquin County
municipal well system
A third domestic water well servicing Flying J's Travel Plaza (15 100 North Thornton Road) was
recently located approximately 1,100 feet north-northeast of the site AGE does not have any
additional information on this well
A summary of water wells located from the receptor survey are included in Table 10 and depicted
on Figure 17
Advanced GeoEnvwronmentai,Inc
