INTRODUCTION
At the request of PAQ Inc./Food 4 Less,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. (AGE)has prepared this
soil boring advancement work plan for the property at Carolyn Weston Boulevard&Manthey Road,
Stockton, California (the site). The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1. A plan of the site
is illustrated on Figure 2.
This work plan is prepared to obtain a drilling permit from the San Joaquin County Public Health
Services-Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD).This work plan provides a description of the
scope of work and procedures to be used for the advancement of two soil borings.
2.0. SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of work includes the advancement of two soil borings, collection of soil and ground water
samples and laboratory analysis. One boring will be located within the future underground storage
tank(UST) excavation; a second boring will be located near the future canopy footings area. Each
boring will advanced to a maximum depth of 20 feet below surface grade (bsg).
One soil sample and one ground water sample will be collected from the boring within the future
UST location and will be submitted to a state-certified laboratory for analysis. The samples will be
analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g), volatile aromatics
(benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylenes: BTEX) and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) in
accordance with EPA Methods 8015M and 8020.
Two samples will be collected from the boring located within the canopy footing area. The samples
will be transmitted to a state certified laboratory and analyzed for geo-technical parameters
(permeability,porosity, compression, moisture and density).
Upon completion of field work and receipt of laboratory analysis a brief report will be prepared
summarizing results of the investigation.
3.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Registered Geologist. Procedures for the advancement of soil borings, soil sampling, ground water
sampling, monitoring well installation and development, equipment decontamination, and sample
shipment are outlined below.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
