San Joaquin Street
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
RE: Greyhound Terminal
Location#8969
Stockton, California
Request for Closure Report
Dear Mr. Infurna:
On behalf of Greyhound Lines, Inc. (Greyhound),Parsons Engineering Science, Inc. (Parsons
ES) is pleased to provide the San Joaquin County Public Environmental Health Department
(PHS-EHD)with the enclosed Request for Closure Report for the Greyhound Terminal located at
121 South Center Street in Stockton, California. This report follows the required format for
closure reports specified in Appendix B, "Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for
Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites, Requests for Closure,
March 1, 1994." The report includes a brief discussion of the site history, existing conditions, the
recent investigative work (August and September of 1996), and additional documentation which
support a case for site closure. As described in the report, available data indicate that the soil
contamination which remains at the site has not significantly impacted groundwater at the site and
does not extend to any surrounding properties. Accordingly, Greyhound requests that no further
action status be granted for the site.
Greyhound looks forward to PHS-EHD's favorable review of this report and will continue
the quarterly groundwater monitoring program until otherwise directed by your department. In
the interim, if you have any questions or require additional information please contact us at (315)
451-9560.
Sincerely,
PARSONS ENGINEERING SCIENCE, INC.
JC,
r7
David A.
