1
AUGUST 1994
QUARTERLY STATUS REPORT (CONTINUED)
soil contamination on-site -EHD approved the work plan in a faxed
transmission to ES on June 28, 1994, and Greyhound implemented the second
Supplemental Site Assessment in late August 1994 A report summarizing the
findings of this investigation is currently being prepared.
Greyhound received a letter from EHD dated August 12, 1994 requesting, that
Greyhound return to a quarterly monitonng/sampling program, rather than
semi-annual due to concerns about rising water levels in the area and detections
of TPH-D in one of the groundwater samples collected in June 1994. As a
result, Greyhound has reinstated a quarterly program.
• Proposed continuing or next phase of investigation:
Greyhound is currently evaluating data from the final phase of drilling at the site
to determine if any additional actions are warranted Based on the results of site
investigations performed to date and groundwater analytical results which
indicate no significant impact to groundwater, Greyhound has previously
proposed a "monitor only" scenario for this facility
ad • Method of cleanup proposed or implemented to date;
f
Based on investigations conducted to date, no cleanup has been proposed or
implemented
• Time schedules for the completion of the investigation of the site and
remediation:
Greyhound proposes to continue the groundwater monitoring and quarterly
sampling program. After the results from the second Supplemental Site
Assessment are reviewed, all the data obtained from the site will be evaluated to
determine the time schedule for the completion of the site investigation and
remediation
• Method and location of disposal of the released hazardous substance and
any contaminated soil, groundwater or surface water:
No released hazardous substances or contaminated soil, groundwater, or surface
water were handled at the site between June and August 1994 During the
fueling system closure in May 1991, excavated soils were observed to be clean,
and, consequently, placed back into the tank pit and fuel line excavations.
During the recent site investigation, a total of 24 55-gallon DOT-approved
PARES5YR01WOL1 WP1725218108959108969L04 DOC
2
