6.2.2 Chemicai Exposure <br /> If a memoer of the field crew demonstrates svmotoins of chemical exposure the <br /> proceaures ouuinea below snouid be tollowea: <br /> Another team memoer (buddv) should remove the indiviauai from the <br /> tmmeaiate area of contamination. The buddv should communicate to the <br /> Field Team Leader (via voice and hand signals) of the chemical exposure. <br /> r The Field Team Leader should contact the appropriate emergency Tesponse - <br /> agency. <br /> • Precautions should be taken to avoid exposure of other individuais to the <br /> chemical. <br /> • If the chemical is on the individual's clothing, the chemical should be <br /> neutralized or removed if it is safe to do so. <br />`I If the chemical has contacted the skin, the skin should be washed with copious <br /> amounts of water. <br /> • In case of eve contact, an cmergencv eve wash should be used. Eves should <br /> be washed for at least 15 minutes. <br /> • All chemical exposure incidents must be reported in writing to the Office <br /> Heaith and Safety Representative. The Site Health and Safety Officer or <br /> Field Team Leader is responsible for completing the accident report (See <br /> Part 7 of this Section). In addition, chemical exposure incidents must be <br /> reported to the Facility Emergency Coordinator at AWPI. <br /> 6.23 Personal Injury <br /> In case of personal injury at the site, the following procedures should be <br /> followed: <br /> • Another team member (buddv) should signal the Field Team Leader that an <br /> inlury nas occurrea. <br /> A field team member trained in first aid can administer treatment to an <br /> injured worker. <br /> • The victim should then be transported to the nearest hospital or medical <br /> center. If necessary, an ambulance should be called to transport the victim. <br /> For less severe cases• the individual can be taken to the site dispensary <br /> • The Field Team Leader or Site Health and Safetv Officer is responsible for <br /> making certain that an accident report form is completed. This form is to be <br /> submitted to the Office Health and Safety Representative. Follow-up action <br /> should be taken to correct the situation that caused the accident. <br /> 6.2.4 Evacuation Procedures <br /> • The Field Team Leader will initiate evacuation proceaure by signalling to <br /> leave the site. <br /> EJs/sY=oiloari <br /> 6-2 <br />
