This work plan has been prepared to address
recommendations proposed in SECOR's 2004 Site Assessment-Report, dated June 11,
2004. This work plan includes a brief discussion of the site, proposed scope of work, and a
schedule.
SITE DESCRIPTION
The site is located at 139 South Center Street in Stockton, California (Figure 1). Former
station facilities included two pump islands under a common canopy, three double-walled
steel underground storage",tanks (USTs), one double-walled steel used-oil UST, and a
station building. ' Locations of former station facilities are shown on Figure 2. The area
surrounding the site is zoned primarily for commercial land use. Topography in the area of
the site is relatively flat, and is approximately 12 feet above mean sea level (msl). The
nearest surface water bodies are the Mormon Slough located approximately 1/4-mile south
of the site, the Yacht Harbor located approximately 1/4-mile north of the site, and the Port of
Stockton located approximately one mile west of the site.
PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of work proposed for this assessment includes the advancement of one cone
penetrometer test (CPT) boring and the installation of one deep groundwater monitoring
well. The location of the proposed CPT boring and groundwater monitoring well is depicted
on Figure 3.
A summary of field and laboratory procedures to be followed during these assessment
activities is included in Attachment 1. The specific scope of work is described below.
I:\Chevron\90557\REPORTS\2004\WP,for Monitoring Well Installation-2004.doc SECOR International Incorporated
