Page 2B-3, Paragraph 2B-4. Delete the subparagraph (following
the table) which begins "A soil sample is to be collected for
approximately every 2,500 square feet. . .", and replace with the
following:
"After completing Phase 1 of the pond excavation, removal
and stockpiling of contaminated soils and sediments from the
eastern portion of the pond, confirmation surface samples
shall be collected from the excavated area in the following
manner:
One composite sample representing each of three berms, i.e. ,
one composite sample for the north berm, one for the south
and one for the eastern berm. Composite samples shall
consist of a minimum of three discrete samples collected at
differing locations between the toe of the berm (pond
bottom) and the top of the berm excavation (high water
level).
Two composite samples representing the eastern portion of
the pond bottom: one for the southeast quadrant and the
other for the northeast quadrant. Each composite sample
shall consist of a minimum three discrete samples collected
at different locations in the respective quadrant.
The North Area trench shall be sampled in the same manner.
One composite sample consisting of a minimum of three
discrete samples collected at different locations within the
trench area shall be collected and submitted for analysis.
Upon completion of the Phase 2 excavation activity in the
western portion of the pond, confirmation sampling of the
berms and pond bottom as described above shall be completed.
Sampling locations shall be the north, south and west berms,
and the pond bottom. The pond bottom samples shall be
collected from the northwest and southwest quadrants.
Note: Adequate portions of the discrete samples used to
formulate the composite samples shall be retained until
review of the laboratory report has been completed by the
regulatory agencies."
AD2-4
