Page 19B, PROCEDURES FOR SELECTION OF RESPIRATORY PROTECTIVE
EQUIPMENT. Change first paragraph to read:
"Environmental engineering studies have determined that
detectable levels of inorganic arsenic, chromium, and copper are
present at various locations within the MCTC facility site
boundaries. Surface impoundment soils and sediments contain
arsenic, chromium, and coppers which may range up to 33,000 mg/kg
of soil."
Page 19B, Second Paragraph. Change last sentence to read:
"Respirators will be worn by all persons assigned work within the
restricted work areas until the air monitoring results for each
area indicate that the airborne concentrations of chemicals are
below their respective permissible exposure limits."
Page 22, Section 9.14, TEMPERATURE CONTROLS. Change the paragraph to
read:
"The ambient temperature and humidity will be monitored using a
wet bulb globe thermometer. Guidelines published by the American
Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists will be used in
establishing work-rest schedules."
Page 22, Section 9.15, HEAT STRESS CONTROL. Add the following:
o Workers will use the buddy system to monitor for signs of
heat stress exposure in fellow employees.
o A.C.G.I.H. guidelines will be followed in setting work-rest
schedules as no OSHA regulation specifically covers heat
stress.
AD2-9
