;voveinber 24, 1997
Page 5
MtBE was reported as nondetect in all samples analyzed. Soil analytical data is
presented as Table 1. Drilling, soil sampling, and well installation field and
laboratory procedures are presented as Attachment A. Certified analytical reports
and chain-of-custody documentation is presented as Attachment B.
• Groundwater analytical results reported TPH-g in Wells MW-8 and MW-9 at
concentrations of 370 and 130,000 ppb, respectively. The maximum concentration
of benzene was reported in MW-9 at 20,000 ppb. MW-9 reported concentrations of
toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes of 35,000, 3,200, and 15,000 ppb, respectively.
Well MW-8 reported BTEX concentrations of 19, 40, 5.7, and 26 ppb, respectively.
MtBE was not reported in either well. Groundwater analytical data is presented as
Table 2. Certified Analytical Reports and Chain-of-Custody Documentation is
presented as Attachment B. Groundwater sampling field and laboratory procedures
are presented as Attachment C. Wells MW-8 and MW-9 will be incorporated into
the quarterly groundwater monitoring program.
• Wells MW-8 and MW-9 were surveyed by Morrow Surveying, a California
Licensed Surveyor. The surveyor's report is presented as Attachment D.
WORK PLAN
Based on the findings reported above, the following scope of work is proposed to
further assess the extent of gasoline hydrocarbon impacted groundwater at the site.
Proposed Scope of Work
The scope of work proposed for this investigation will include the drilling and sampling
of one hydropunch boring downgradient of MW-8 and the installation of three
groundwater monitoring wells.
Prior to performing field work at the site, PACIFIC will prepare a Site-Specific Health
and Safety Plan required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration
(OSHA) Standard "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response" guidelines
(29 CFR 1910.120) and by California Occupational Health and Safety Administration
(Cal-OSHA) "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response" guidelines (CCR
Title 8, Section 5192). The Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan will be reviewed by
the project manager, field staff and contractors before beginning field operations at the
site.
Applicable permits for soil borings will be obtained from the PHS/EHD prior to
drilling. Additionally, prior to drilling soil borings within the City right-of-way,
appropriate encroachment permits will need to be secured.
The specific scope of work is discussed below:
•
920-078 1 A/S0LG W RPT
