November 24, 1997
Page 6
• Hydropunch Installation. One proposed offsite hydropunch boring,
will be installed at the general location shown on Figure 2. The
boring will be advanced to approximately 70 feet bgs. Hydropunch
water samples will be collected at discrete intervals, in an effort to
evaluate gasoline hydrocarbon impact to groundwater at various
depths.
• Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation. Three proposed
offsite groundwater monitoring wells will be installed at the general
locations shown on Figure 2. The depths of completion of the
groundwater monitoring wells will be determined based on the
groundwater analytical data collected from the hydropunch boring.
• Soil and Groundwater Analysis. Selected soil samples and
groundwater samples will be submitted to a California State-certified
laboratory and analyzed for the presence of TPH-g, BTEX
compounds, and oxygenates including MtBE.
• Aerial Photograph Review. PACIFIC will review selected aerial
photographs of the site area on file at the San Joaquin County Branch
of the USDA Soil Conservation Service. Aerial photographs dated in
approximate 10 year increments within the last 40 years plus, as
available, are commonly selected for review.
• Report. A report will be prepared after completion of necessary
field work. The report will include boring logs, boring location map,
soil and groundwater analytical results, chain-of-custody docu-
mentation, and findings.
Field and Iaboratory procedures are presented as Attachment E.
Schedule
PACIFIC is prepared to initiate field work within 2 weeks following approval of this
work plan by the PHS/EHD and the securing of permits and offsite encroachment.
Based on previous experience, securing encroachment within a City of Stockton right-
of-way (sidewalks) may take several weeks to several months. A report documenting
the findings of the investigation is anticipated to be submitted approximately 6 to S
weeks after the completion of field work.
920-078 1 AISOLGWRPT
