KLEINFELDER
' Unidentified Extractable Petroleum hydrocarbons (340 Ftg/L) in the carbon range C10 to C30 were
detected above laboratory reporting limits in the Hydropunch IITm groundwater samples collected
from HP-3 An Insufficient quantity of water was collected from bonngs HP-1 and HP-2
Therefore, a Fuel Fingerprint analysis was not conducted for borings HP-1 and HP-2
In addition, Acid/Base Neutral Organic constituents Bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (2100 pg/L) and
Butyl benzyl phthalate (40 fig/L) were detected in boring HP-1 Butyl benzyl phthalate (29 µg/L)
was detected in HP-2 All other chemical constituents analyzed for were reported as non-detect
Because of the Unidentified Extractable Hydrocarbon and Acid/Base Neutral Organic
eca y g
concentrations reported by the analytical laboratory for the groundwater sample collected from
boring HP-1, HP-2 and HP-3, one surface water sample was collected from the Stockton Deep
Water Channel in the vicinity of boring HP-3 The surface water sample was used to further assess
the potential for groundwater contamination at this location and to assess if the potential source of
the constituents may have migrated on site from the channel No Volatile Organics or Acid/Base
Neutral Organic constituents were detected in the channel water sample Unidentified Extractable
' Hydrocarbon(450 µg/L) in the carbon range Cl')-C40 was reported by the laboratory in the sample
collected from the channel
Based on the results of borings HP-1, HP-2, HP-3, and the channel surface water sampling, it is
Kleinfelder's opinion that the low levels of Unidentified Extractable Hydrocarbons detected are
typical of regional concentrations of Unidentified Extractable Hydrocarbons associated with runoff
into the channel, from motorized water craft, and/or storm water drains from traffic areas
The concentrations of Butyl benzyl phthalate and Bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate reported in HP-1 and
' HP-2 are associated with the leaching of plastic and/or plasticizers These constituents were not
detected in borings HP-3 or the channel surface sample and therefore are of an undetermined
source
20-1129-30/201 7R 1 14 Page 10 of 13
© 1997 Klemf(MLr !nL lily 14 1997
