K L E I N F E L D E R <br /> I <br /> 6 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Kleinfelder conducted this limited soil and groundwater assessment of the proposed area of the <br /> g P P <br /> Weber Point South Seawall to evaluate the presence of selected contaminants because of an <br /> adjacent ARCO retail service station and documented regional groundwater contamination from <br /> surrounding sites Soil samples were collected from 3 soil borings and field screened for petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons Three of the borings were advanced to groundwater and Hydropunch Il TM water <br /> samples were collected An additional water sample was collected from adjacent the Stockton <br /> Deep Water Channel <br /> 6.1 GENERAL CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Unidentified Extractable Hydrocarbons 340 /L in the carbon range C 10 to C30 was detected <br /> Y ( µg ) g <br /> above laboratory reporting limits in the groundwater sample collected from boring HP-3 In <br /> addition, Unidentified Extractable Hydrocarbon (450 tig/L ) in the carbon range C13-C40 was <br /> detected above laboratory limits m the channel water sample <br /> AcidBase Neutral Organic constituents (Bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (2100 µg/L ) sand Butyl <br /> benzyl phthalate (40 µg/L ) weie detected in boring HP-1 Butyl benzyl phthalate (29 µg/L ) was <br /> detected in boring HP-2 <br /> Based on the results of the subsurface assessment, Kleinfelder has the following general <br /> recommendations <br /> 1 Kleinfelder does not recommend any further investigation or clean-up for the site <br /> However, Kleintelder recommends that a copy of this report be submitted to the <br /> RWQCB and P14S/EHD for their review and comment This report and the conclusions <br /> and recommendations presented are subjected to the "Limitations" presented in Chapter 7 <br /> ' of this report <br /> ' 2 The existing soil cuttings (a k a drilling returns) should be evaluated and properly <br /> disposed of by the City of Stockton Kleinfelder can assist the City of Stockton in that <br /> disposal at the Client's request at an additional cost <br /> ' 3 If discolored soil, odors, or other evidence of contamination are encountered during site <br /> grading, development, etc , oui office should be notified immediately <br /> 4 Site access i ight-of-way for the ARCO service station seawall portion was not obtained <br /> during the field investigation timefiame An additional similar assessment should be <br /> conducted at this location it right-of-way access is approved at a later date <br /> 20-1129-30/2017R314 Page I I of 13 <br /> cp 1997 K1einJL1dex 111L luly 14 1997 <br />
