KLEINFELDER <br /> I <br /> 6 SITE RECONNAISSANCE <br /> The site reconnaissance was conducted on May 16, 1997 by Mr Roman Racca, Project <br /> Geologist, for Kleinfelder Please refer to Appendix A, Plate 2, the site map, and the <br /> photographs on Plates 3 to 5 for the location of items discussed in this Section <br /> ' On site Observations <br /> The site is currently vacant with no structures on site or obvious indicators (debris, concrete, etc } <br /> ' of past structures There was no soil staining, soil discoloration or stressed vegetation in the site <br /> area A concrete seawall is constructed along the south side of the site A four-foot high cham- <br /> link fence was situated atop the seawall The site is covered with asphalt paving which is <br /> ideteriorating and undercut The eastern portion of the site was not accessible (access <br /> authorization not approved) at the time of the site investigation, and therefore is not a part of this <br /> ' investigation This portion of site is adjacent to an existing ARCO service station Dense <br /> vegetation obscured an adequate view of this site from off-site, however, the seawall is <br /> continuous past the location There are several drains and underground pipes exposed on the <br /> ' seawall which apparently propagate throughout and beneath the site The pipe are likely <br /> remnants of the past Holiday Inn Hotel which occupied a large portion of Weber Point <br /> No storage tanks, odors, or pools of liquids were noted on the subject site No hazardous <br /> substance, coolant oils containing PCBs, or stains were noted on the subject site No pits, ponds, <br /> lagoons, stained soil, or wastewater, were noted on the subject site during the site <br /> reconnaissance <br /> Adjacent Properties <br /> ' The adjacent property to the north is vacant with adjoining asphalt-paved parking merging with <br /> the subject site asphalt-paved parking The Stockton Deep Water channel is adjacent to the south <br /> and west The site elevation is approximately 10 feet above the level of the channel water The <br /> ' ARCO service station property is adjacent to the east North Center Street is adjacent to the east <br /> of the service station across which is a paved parking lot <br /> ' No odors, pools of liquids, or drums were noted on the adjacent areas surrounding the subject <br /> site No unidentified substance containers, PCBs, or stains were noted on the surrounding areas <br /> ' A pad mounted transformer is located north of the site and is associated with the adjacent ARCO <br /> service station There was no indication of leakage of transformer coolant observed from off site <br /> No drains, sumps, pits, ponds, lagoons, stained soil or pavement, stressed vegetation, wastewater, <br /> ' were noted on the surrounding areas during the site reconnaissance <br /> 20-1129-301101111141 Page 13 of 16 <br /> ' © 1997 KleinfeldLr lnL July 14, 1997 <br />
