' KLEINFELDER
'
5.3. ADDITIONAL LIMITED SOIL SAMPLING
' Additional shallow soil samples were collected from locations across the site. A total of 48 soil
samples were collected from eighteen soil borings advanced by hand auger in the vicinity of the
' concrete pad near the southern portion of the site (B1 through B6) and at stepped-out perimeter
locations (B7 through B18) to assess the potential lateral extent of lead contamination. The
sampling locations were chosen based on the previous shallow soil sampling results reported in
' the WHF report, around the concrete pad. Twenty-four(24) of the 48 soil samples were submitted
for laboratory analysis. The remaining 24 soil samples were placed on hold pending the initial
results. Each of the shallow soil samples collected during this task were analyzed for TTLC-Lead
concentrations.
The six soil borings around the concrete pad were advanced to a total depth of 5 feet. Soil
' samples were collected at depth intervals of approximately 2 feet and 5 feet. Both samples from
each boring were submitted for laboratory analysis.
' The twelve perimeter samples submitted for analysis were collected from alternating I and 2 foot
sample depths, while the 5-foot sample from each perimeter sample location was held pending the
' initial analysis.
1
1
42162.E0I ST04R854
Copyright 2004,Kleinfelder,Inc.
