Tjosvold, P.E. <br /> Chief <br /> r Site Mitigation Branch <br /> California Department of Toxic Substances Control - ' <br /> 10151 Croydon Way, Suite 3 <br /> Sacramento, CA 95827 <br /> Attention: Mr. Fernando Amador <br /> re: Docket No. HSA 90/91/08 - Stockton Former Manufactured Gas Plant Site <br /> Subject: Quarterly Summary Report(Second and Third Quarters, 1998) <br /> Dear Mr. Tjosvold: <br /> Pacific Gas and Electric Company(PG&E) submits this second and third quarter 1998 <br /> summary report for the Stockton Former Manufactured Gas Plant Site (site) in accordance <br /> with Provision 3.7 of the above-referenced order. This report summarizes technical <br /> activities conducted by PG&E in compliance with the order from April 1, 1998 to <br /> September 30, 1998 and activities planned for next quarter. <br /> I. Activities Performed During Previous Ouarter: <br /> The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) and Central Valley Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board (RWQCB) comments were incorporated into the final draft <br /> Remedial Action Plan(DRAP) which was issued on December 31, 1997. This DRAP was <br /> approved for public review and comment by DTSC on January 7, 1998. The DRAP was <br /> included in a public repository on January 9, 1998, along with supporting documents, such <br /> as the Remedial Investigation(RI), Risk Assessment(RA) and the Feasibility Study (FS) <br /> for this site. Also included in the public repository were the proposed Negative <br /> Declaration and its supporting document, the California Environmental Quality Act <br /> (CEQA) Special Initial Study for this site. <br /> On January 7, 1998,the Fact Sheet was mailed to DTSC's mandatory mailing list and to <br /> residents and businesses within a four block radius of the site. Both English and Spanish <br /> versions of the Fact Sheet were mailed to the residents and businesses within the four block <br /> radius. A public notice was placed in the January 9, 1998 Stockton Record (local <br /> newspaper)to announce the public comment period on the DRAP and on the proposed <br /> Negative Declaration and to announce the public meeting. <br />
