0 0 <br /> 5.1.3 Level C and Level C (Modified) <br /> PPE, meeting Level C protection requirements shall include: <br /> • Boots with steel toe and shank (neoprene, if high direct contact potential <br /> exists); <br /> • Protective gloves (nitrile); <br /> • Protective gloves (leather permissible, if high direct contact potential does <br /> not exist); <br /> • Coveralls (hooded, long-sleeved Tyvek); <br /> • Hard hat; <br /> • Approved eye protection, by the American National Standards Institute <br /> (ANSI), [8 CCR 3382]; <br /> • Half-face air purifying respiratory protection with NIOSH/OSHA approved <br /> cartridges (organic vapor/NEPA); and <br /> • Ear plugs or muffs <br /> Level C modified, is the same as Level C, except that the half-face respirator is replaced by <br /> a full-face respirator. <br /> 5.1.4 Level B and Level A <br /> USEPA Level B and Level A protection requirements are not anticipated for tasks on this <br /> project and will not be used. <br /> 5.2 Level of Protection Required for Specific Tasks <br /> Personnel involved in invasive field work on the Site will, as a minimum, use PPE meeting <br /> USEPA Level D (or modified Level D) protection. The actual level of protection will be <br /> determined by the action levels described in Table 1, and the results of air monitoring.
