Verification of new diesel pipe installation, setbacks, and burial depth according to the
manufacturer's installation instructions. Verification of appropriate backfill. This inspection
was conducted on 6/19/2018
g. Verification of newly installed diesel pipe slope (1/8 inches per foot or greater) to a
containment sump with an audible/ visual alarm. This inspection was conducted on
6/21/2018
h. Verification of piping modifications and terminations. This inspection was conducted on
6/21/2018
i. Primary piping soap test: One hour pneumatic pressure test at 110% of operating pressure,
or 40 psi, whichever is greater on the newly installed diesel piping. . This inspection was
conducted on 6/19/2018
j. Secondary piping soap test: One hour pressure test per manufacturer's guidelines on the
newly installed diesel piping. If there are no manufacturer's guidelines, test shall be
performed using an applicable method specified in an industry code or engineering
standard. This inspection was conducted on 6/21/2018
k. 24-hour hydrostatic test (or equivalent) on tank#1 and tank #2 submersible turbine pump
(STP) sumps, UDC 3/4, and UDC 7/8. Secondary containment testing for tank#1 fill sump
maybe required if the installed threaded pipe cap riser has any impact on the secondary
containment testing of this sump. This inspection was conducted on 7/2/2018
I. Secondary containment testing of installed diesel piping (and any other regulated piping
over which the concrete was broken) in operating condition (once concrete is poured), per
manufacturer's guidelines. One hour pressure test per manufacturer's guidelines is
required, if there are no manufacturer's guidelines, this test shall be performed using an
applicable method specified in an industry code or engineering standard. As built plans
must be submitted prior to this inspection. This inspection was conducted on 7/2/2018
m. Since concrete will be broken near the converted diesel tank, a secondary containment test
must be performed on the diesel tank (and any other tank over which the concrete has
been broken) once concrete is poured in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines. As
built plans must be submitted prior to this inspection. This inspection was conducted on
7/2/2018
n. Sensor functionality: Functionality of the monitoring system must be verified to ensure that
monitoring has been restored to meet the requirements of Title 23 California Code of
Regulations and the Health & Safety Code. If it is determined that a cold start is necessary,
a copy of the alarm history shall be printed prior to performing the "cold start" of the Veeder
Root system and made available at the time of EHD inspection. This inspection was
conducted on 7/12/2018
o. Leak detector test: Leak detector must be tested to confirm that the device can detect a
leak of 3 gallons per hour at 10 psi. This inspection was conducted on 7/12/2018
p. Verification of the dispenser footprints (UDCs 3/4 and 7/8) contained by the under
dispenser containment sumps (UDCs), any potential leaks from piping and fuel filters must
drain directly into UDCs. This inspection was conducted on 7/2/2018
q. Visual inspection of the piping within the dispensers for any product leaks. This inspection
was conducted on 7/2/2018
r. An accurate and drawn to scale as-built drawing, which indicate the location of the
underground storage tanks (underground storage tank, piping, auxiliary and monitoring
equipment) and newly installed piping with respect to buildings or other landmarks (per 23
CCR 16 2711(8)) and copies of any required installation checklists must be submitted to the
EHD prior to scheduling a final inspection. This as-built was reviewed by EHD on 7/16/18
2of4
