WASTE DISPOSAL
On 05 June 2014, eight (8) drums containing 380 gallons of water generated during
' groundwater sampling events was transported under non-hazardous waste manifest by
Instrat Inc. of Rio Vista, California to Instrat's facility in Rio Vista, California for disposal;
and on 13 October 2014, seven (7) drums containing 385 gallons of water generated
' during groundwater sampling events was transported under non-hazardous waste
manifest by Instrat Inc. of Rio Vista, California to Instrat's facility in Rio Vista, California
for disposal. The non-hazardous waste manifests documenting the disposal of the water
' are included in Appendix H.
' 6.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the results of the ozone injection pilot test, AGE presents the following
' conclusions:
• The ozone injection pilot test was performed between 11 November 2013 and
' 02 October 2014; however, based on operational difficulties, equipment
malfunctions, and off-site repairs, the majority of the pilot test (80%) was
performed between 02 May and 02 October 2014 (Table 6).
' • Based on DO and ORP measurements collected during the ozone injection pilot
test, (December 2014 through October 2014), compared to baseline
' measurements measured in June 2013 (prior to ozone injection), it appears that
ozone injection increased oxygen levels in groundwater at the site and confirms
dissolution of ozone in groundwater. DO and ORP measurements increased in
' wells MW-1 and MW-5A, the two wells located closest to and surrounded by
ozone wells OZ-4 through OZ-8. DO and ORP measurements increased from
baseline measurements of DO at 1.63 mg/I (MW-1) and 1.34 mg/I (MW-5A) to
' final measurements of DO at 3.01 mg/I (MW-1) and 5.25 mg/I (MW-5A); and from
baseline measurements of ORP at -236.9 mV (MW-1) and -225.3 mV (MW-5A)
to final measurements of ORP at 64.6 mV (MW-1) and 112.8 mV (MW-5A). DO
' measurements collected from the remaining wells monitored as required by the
MRP (MW-2A, MW-3A, MW-6B, MW-713, MW-8A, MW-9A, and MW-10),
fluctuated during the pilot test; DO in the remaining wells all increased during the
' pilot test but then decreased back to baseline levels towards the end of the test.
However, ORP in all the remaining wells increased during the test and remained
at levels well above baseline levels at the conclusion of the pilot test (Table 3).
' • At the conclusion of the ozone pilot test, dissolved concentrations of barium had
increased in each well sampled compared to baseline concentrations detected in
' June 2013. Barium concentrations detected in wells MW-1, MW-2A, and MW-5A
were slightly above the State of California Primary MCL of 1.0 mg/I for drinking
Advanced GcoEnvironmental Inc.
