Center St. (APN : 14716003 ) RO#: 10233
Stockton , CA 95206 SWRCB-CUF#: 012186
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed
Cone Penetration Testing Site Investigation — June 2006 (Report) as uploaded to
Geotracker and has the following comments .
In correspondence dated January 23, 2006 , the EHD expressed concerns about
your written proposal to place additional continuous , multi-chambered , extruded
tubing (CMT) monitoring wells and to conduct ground water extraction (GWE)
prior to completion of the lateral and vertical delineation of the dissolved
petroleum ground water plume; therefore the proposals were not approved .
Borings "CPT-07" and "CPT-08” were installed during June 2006 to address the
dissolved plume delineation concerns.
Based on the reported results of the investigation and previously acquired site
data , the EHD still has a number of concerns with the site as noted below :
L A lack of vertical ground water plume delineation near MW4 and MW-5 ;
2. The lack of lateral ground water plume delineation in all five hydrological
units (HU ), particularly toward the north and the east and toward the
residential areas ;
3 . A lack of monitoring wells with screened intervals between 40 feet below
ground surface ( ' bgs) and 100' bgs;
4. The potential for vapor intrusion to the nearby residences located around
the site has not been evaluated. Some of these houses appear to have
either half or full basements and are very close to monitoring wells with
elevated levels of dissolved petroleum in the ground water;
5 . The lack of sorbed and dissolved contaminant mass estimates for the site ,
and
6 . The apparent instability of the dissolved plume .
i
