As we discussed, ETIC and PSC have recently obtained the analytical data for
soil and groundwater samples collected during the direct-push subsurface investigation
performed in November 2007. The investigation was performed in general accordance with the
Site Conceptual Model and Revised Remedial Investigation Work Plan (Work Plan), dated
September 13, 2007. Based on the analytical data, ETIC and PSC are assessing the scope of the
next phase of investigation to be performed. One necessary component of the upcoming work is
to clarify the locations of site boundaries and have them marked in the field. Clarification of site
boundaries will assist in determining permitting, access, and/or encroachment requirements for
future soil borings and monitoring wells. We anticipate that a licensed land surveyor will be able
to perform the boundary survey in January 2008. After receiving the results of the boundary
survey,ETIC proposes to submit an addendum to the Work Plan for additional investigation.
On 'behalf of Sara Lee Bakery Group and PSC Environmental Services, ETIC Engineering
requests that the Work Plan addendum be prepared and submitted to the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department by February 8, 2008.
Thank you for your consideration of this request. Should you have any questions, please feel
free to contact Paul Anderson at(618)281-1543 or Tom Neely at(925) 602-4710,extension 17.
Respectfully yours,
Thomas E.
