A-
20 December 2001 4
AGE-NC Project No 00-0769
IPage 3 of 5
I32 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Water samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable plastic bailers Each
' water sample was transferred into three 40-m1 VOA vials containuig 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid,
as a sample preservative After collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled
container and transported under chain-of-custody to McCampbell Analytical,Inc (MAI)for analysis
' The samples were analyzed for the following
' • TPH-g in accordance with EPA Methods 8015M,
• BTEX and the oxygenated ether methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE)in accordance with EPA
Method 5020, and
' • Fuel oxygenates - MTBE, di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE),
I
ertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butanol (TBA), ethyl di`bromide (EDB) and
' 1,2-dichloro ethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260 Modified
4.0. FINDINGS
' Ground water elevation, flow direction and gradient were determined from field data collected on
03 December 2001, the contaminant impact to ground water was quantified by the laboratory
analytical data
z
41 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
' The relative elevation of ground water m each well was calculated by subtracting the depth to ground
water from the surveyed well head elevations (Table 1) Depths to ground water during the fourth
' quarter 2001 monitoring event ranged from 26 46 feet to 25 45 feet, below the tops of the well
casings Ground water elevations at the site ranged from-15 20 feet in MW-3B to -15 72 in MW-1
relative to mean sea level (msl) The ground water gradient was calculated to be 0 002 ft/ft with a
' flow direction toward the south-southwest (Figure 3)
' I
' 4 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Y
Monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2A, MW-2B, MW-3A and MW-3B were sampled on 03 December
' 2001 The analytical results of the ground water samples were as follows
•
i Advanced GeoEnvlronmentai,Inc
r ,
1 ,
