r <br /> v <br /> FOOTHILL <br /> 1279N <br /> ENGINEERIG <br /> 3 PADDY CREEK LANE f_ODI CA 95240 <br /> PH (209) 368-9381 FAX (209) 367-1163 <br /> May 28, 1999 <br /> Mr Michael Infurna <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health-Services- <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> P O Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> Subject Work Plan -Phase 2 Site Investigation, 1201 S Center Street <br /> Stockton, CA Site Code 505309 <br /> Owner Roger Huckins <br /> 3501 Oak Grove Circle <br /> Stockton, CA 95209 <br /> Dear Mr Infurna, <br /> Please find below the partial report of findings for the work completed to date under the Work <br /> Plan dated 9/28/1998 and modified 10/19/1998 for the subsurface investigation of the above <br /> property owned by Mr Huckins Due to the lack of funds, monitoring wells MW4A and MW4B <br /> have not been installed <br /> BACKGROUND INFORMATION <br /> History <br /> Three underground tanks were removed from the above stated site by Jim Thorpe Oil on 10/26/94 <br /> At that time, ten soil samples were taken from the excavation spoil, the underground tank <br /> excavation, and the product piping area and analyzed by GeoAnalytical Labs The samples from <br /> all three tanks showed evidence of gasoline contamination The sample from the west end of tank <br /> number three (See attached analysis) was the most contaminated After samples were taken, the <br /> excavations were backfilled to finish grade <br /> Under Work Plan 1 for the site, a hollow stem auger soil boring(PB 1) was placed in the general <br /> area of Tank#one and Tank#2 to a depth of thirty feet on 4/28/98 Samples were taken at depths <br /> of 8', 141, 25' and 30' and each was analyzed for BTEX, TPHg, and MTBE All samples were <br /> contaminated with high levels of gasoline(see attached-Recap of Chemical Analysis) A hollow <br /> stem auger soil boring was also placed in the area of Tank#three to a depth of fifty feet Samples <br /> were extracted at five foot intervals and all were analyzed for BTEX, TPHg, and MTBE All <br /> samples were found to be contaminated with gasoline MTBE was not found in any of the samples <br /> 1 <br />
