5outhem Pacifili;Tran5VaK1giQ1LJ21Street This site is located approximately 0.4 mile southeast from the subject property near the end of East 6th Street and extends up to Mac Arthur Drive. In 1988, 1-1,000 gallon UST was removed from the site at 780 East 6th Street. According to the Underground Storage Tank Unauthorized Release(Leak) Contamination Site Report,further work will be required to determine the extent of contamination. Several surface soil samples have been collected, several soil borings, and groundwater monitoring wells have been installed to determine the extent of contamination.Two workplan have been submitted however,several items in the workplans have not been resolved.Refer to Appendix C for information on both facilities. Ag C e This site is located approximately 0.4 mile northeast from the subject property near the end of East 10th Street. On October 29, 1988 3-1,000 gallon USTs were removed from the site.Two of the USTs stored weed oil and one UST stored gasoline. In a letter dated April 17, 1992 from the SJCPHS requested further investigation to be conducted to determine the extent of soil and/or groundwater contamination at the site. Soil samples collected from the tank excavation are presented in Appendix C. However,no reports were found in the RWQCB or the SJCPHS files. California EnyimMn§nW2MMc ' y .Facility In entory Da base Within a 1/2-mile radius of the subject property, several Sites were listed in the Facility Inventory Database.This database combmes information from several other regulatory databases. Refer to Table 1 for sites located within a 1/21m1 a radius of the subject property. 6.0 CONCLUSIONS The subject property was operated by Unocal from November 5, 1921 to September 30, 1965.Based on historical research conducted for proper�ies located in the immediate vicinity of the subject property, several sites were ideated that used or stored hazardous materials. Several service stations and auto garages were identified in the 1/2-mile radius from the subject property.Two service stations were identified on the northwest and northeast comer of East 11th Street and Central Avenue.Currently,these sites are occupied by commercial buildings,and were not identified on the RWQCB Fuel Leak List. p perry Additional service stations were located one block east and west from the subject ro on 11th Street, and are listed on the RWQCB Fuel Leak List. Based on information reviewed at the RWQCB and SJCPHS,twelve sites have been identified as having impacted soil and/or groundwater.However,no sites were identified in the immediate upgradient direction from the subject property. 13
