Under jnd Storage Tank Removal Report
J E.Channel Street,Stockton,CA
z Page 3
Staining and a moderate petroleum hydrocarbon odor were noted at the southern end of the tank pit. Soil
staining was also noted beneath the dispenser and at sample location"Trench-N."
4.0 LABORATORY ANALYSES
The soil samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel (TPH-D), motor oil
(TPH-MO), and kerosene (TPH-K) by EPA Method 8015m; and volatile organic compounds by EPA
Method 8260B. The soil samples from the UST pit, from beneath the diesel filter, and the stockpile were
analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-G). Soil sample SouthTK-8' was
analyzed for the California Administrative Manual (CAM) 17 Metals by EPA Methods 6010C, 7010, and
7471A; the remaining soil samples were also analyzed for total lead by EPA Method 7420.
5.0 LABORATORY ANALYTICAL RESULTS
The results of the laboratory analyses are presented in Tables 1 and 2. Laboratory report sheets and the
chain-of-custody record for the soil samples are included in Appendix C.
TABLE 1. -Soil Sam le Laboratory Analytical Results A riI 29,2003
Sample ID:NortbTK-8'SouthTK-8' Trench-N Dispenser Filter Trench-E Stockpile-(N,S)
Date: 4/29/2003 4/29/2003 4/29/2003 4/29/2003 4/29/2003 4/29/2003 4/29/2003
Constituent Analytical Method Units PRG
'
TPH-G 80158 mg/kg NE <1.0 75 NA NA 2.0 NA <1.0
TPH-MO 8015B mg/kg NE <20 18000 <20 <20 <20 <20 120
TPH-D 8015B mg/kg NE <5.0 2400 <5.0 <5.0 200 <5.0 <5.0
TPH-K 8015B mg/kg NE <5.0 <100 <5.0 <5.0 <5.0 <5.0 <5,0
n-Butyl Benzene 8260E mg/kg 240 <0.005 <0.10 <0.005 <0.005 0.017 <0.005 <0.005
1,1-.Dichloroethane 8260B mg/kg 2.8 <0.005 0.25 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005
Ethyl Benzene 8260B mg/kg 8.9 <0.005 1.5 <0.005 <0.005 0.009 <0.005 <0.005
p-Isopropyl toluene 8260B mg/kg NE <0.005 0.1 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005
Naphthalene 8260Bmg/kg NE <0.005 0.4 <0.005 <0.005 0.055 <0.005 <0.005
n-Propyl benzene 82608 mg/kg 240 2.005 0.32:d <0.005 <0.005 0.009 <0.005 <0.045
Tetrachloroethene 8260B mg/kg 1.5 <0.005 0.22 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005
Toluene 8260B mg/kg 520 <0.005 0.85 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005
1,2,4-Trimethylbenzene 82608 mg/kg 52 <0.005 3.3 <0.005 <0,005 0.I3 <Q.QOS <0.005
1,3,5-Trimethylbenzene 8260B mg/kg 21 <0.005 I.1 <0.005 <0.005 0.025 <0.005 <0.005
Total Xylenes 8260B mg/kg 270 <0.005 7.3 <0.005 <0.005 0.064 <0.005 1 <0.005
PRG:United States Environmental ProlecUon Agency,Region IX,Preliminary Remediation Goal(residential)
Unit Conversions Analy_ cal
mg/kg:milligrams per kilogram, parts per million TPH-G:total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline
TPH-MO:total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as motor oil
TPH-D:total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel
TPH-K:total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as kerosene
The laboratory analytical results indicate that none of the requested hydrocarbon constituent analytes
were detected at or above the laboratory reported detection limits in soil samples NorthTK-8', Trench-N,
Dispenser,. and Trench-E.
