The site <br /> was also discussed during the December 8, 1993 PHS/EHD Technical Review Committee ('IRC) meeting. <br /> PHS/EHD has prepared the following comments for your consideration. <br /> The TRC concurs with the recommendation to backfill the excavation and that at this time further <br /> excavation/soil remediation would not be warranted. The TRC indicated that at least two quarters of <br /> additional groundwater monitoring and sampling will be required to verify that groundwater has not been <br /> impacted. In addition, a survey of wells within a 2000 foot radius should be conducted. <br /> Additional information will be necessary in order to characterize the residual soil contamination. An estimate <br /> of the residual soil contamination that integrates the results of the prior investigation should be included. <br /> Also,a map should be prepared which locates the former tank,soil borings,monitoring wells,and excavation. <br /> The contaminated stockpile requires characterization and disposal. The next quarterly monitoring should be <br /> scheduled by January 14, 1994 and the resultant quarterly report submitted by February 15, 1994.
