According to the field <br /> notes, the average thickness of the aeration pile is approximately 1 foot. Four samples were collected trom each <br /> quadrant, at depths of 6 inches into the aeration pile tlsitng brass tubes. Tubcs were scaled with Teflon tape and <br /> plastic end caps and placed in a cooler for transport to the laboratory.
