Stantec •
Quarterly Status Summary Report-First Quarter 2011
Stockton Charter Way Commingled Plume
April 13, 2011
warehouse building; no USTs or fuel dispensers are present on the property. The ARCO-
branded service station [former Texaco (Shell)] is currently comprised of a station building, a car
wash, four fuel dispenser islands, and four USTs. This station is currently anticipated to be
redeveloped during the summer of 2011. No changes have been made to the previous
investigations and site history since the last report submittal [Site Conceptual Model (SCM),
January 14, 2011].
Sensitive Receptors
There are no known water wells within one quarter mile of the Site. The nearest surface water
body is the Mormon Slough, located approximately 2,800 ft to the north-northeast and down-
gradient of the Site.
Monitoring and Sampling
Upon approval of the Further Assessment Work Plan (Work Plan), dated February 15, 2011,
there are a total of 30 groundwater monitoring wells sampled semi-annually during the second
and fourth quarters and a total of 16 wells sampled annually during the second quarter as
summarized in the following table. No groundwater monitoring and sampling was conducted
during 1Q11.
Frequency Well Number
AMW-1 through AMW-3, AMW-5 through AMW-9, AMW-1 B,
Semi-annual (second and AMW-813, AMW-1C, AMW-8C, AMW-11, CMW-4A through
fourth quarters) CMW-7A, CMW-7B, CMW-5C, CMW-7C, SLVE-1, SMW-3,
SMW-3-79, SMW-3-119, SMW-10-81, SMW-11-82, SMW-19-81,
SMW-20-83.5, SMW-21-80, SMW-22-80
CMW-4C, CMW-6C, SLMW-1A through SLMW-4A, SLMW-8-87,
Annual (second quarter) SLMW-9-120, SMW-2, SMW-8, SMW-10-117, SMW-11-122,
SMW-14, SMW-15, SMW-19-120, SMW-23
Current Assessment Activities
No assessment activities were conducted at the Site during 1Q11.
Monitoring wells SMW-20-83.5 and SMW-23 were reconfigured on March 18, 2011 to protect
them from damage during property redevelopment activities at 378 West Charter Way in
Stockton, California. Stantec supervised WDC Exploration and Wells (WDC) of Zamora,
California in reconfiguring the wells. WDC air-knifed the soil approximately 1.5 feet in diameter
around the wells to approximately three feet below ground surface (bgs). WDC then cut and
capped the well casings at approximately two feet bgs, covered the well casings with Morrison
well vaults, and backfilled the hole with sand to approximately one feet bgs and native soil to
ground surface. San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department supervised the
backfilling.
Remediation Status
There is no active remediation operating at the Site.
Stockton Charter Way Commingled Plume QSSR 1 Q11.doc 2
