• September 9, 1996 and transported under hazardous waste manifest to Richmond,
California where each were properly destroyed by Erickson, Incorporated. The associated
waste oil UST piping was left in place. Chevron is applying for a tank removal permit
variance to allow for this.
(7) Corrective action taken to date includes the excavation and stockpiling of UST backfill
material. Confirmation of hydrocarbon impact and stockpile characterization will be
performed as part of the corrective action activities proposed in Touchstone Developments
Corrective Action Plan dated August 30, 1996.
On March 15, 1995 an environmental investigation was performed in preparation for a
change in property lease. Three groundwater monitoring wells were installed as was one
soil boring. Samples collected detected gasoline contamination in soil and groundwater.
Quarterly groundwater monitoring has occurred since March, 1995.
A final report documenting all UST removal activities, excavations, soil stockpile
characterization, and disposition will be submitted to San Joaquin County Public Health
Services within 45 days of completing corrective action activities.
The need for future site investigation will be determined upon review of the results from the
corrective action activities.
(8) The method of cleanup implemented to date has been limited to the excavation of UST
backfill material that is suspected to be hydrocarbon-impacted.
Further cleanup activities will be determined upon review of corrective action results.
Once the need for further cleanup has been determined,a proposal describing the
• recommended procedure will be submitted to San Joaquin County Public Health Services.
(9) A total of approximately three hundred and fifteen cubic yards of soil were stockpiled at the
subject site. This backfill material was generated during the removal of all UST's and piping.
All stockpiled soil will be sampled by Touchstone Developments according to those protocol
outlined in their corrective action plan. Once stockpile characterization has been performed,
permits to aerate will be applied for from the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution
Control District and upon completion of aeration, soils will be reused onsite as backfill
material. Approval to reuse soil onsite will be secured from San Joaquin County Public Health
Services.
2652(c)
(10)All new underground storage tanks and lines are being installed under permit by San
Joaquin County Public Health Services.
(11)Future releases will be prevented through the installation of underground storage and
dispensing equipment that meets or exceeds all applicable regulations.
(d) Chevron will comply with all reporting requirements specified within this subsection.
(e) Chevron will conduct initial abatement, site characterization, and additional corrective
action as specified within this subsection, within sections 2653,2654, and within Article 11.
(f) Chevron understands the language within this subsection.
• Hopefully, you will find these information to be complete.
