PHS/EHD has a contract with the California State Water
Resources Control Board to conduct an underground storage tank corrective action program.
Section 25297.1 (b) Chapter 6.7 of the Health and Safety Code provides PHS/EHD the authority to
require an investigation and cleanup of unauthorized releases. The above referenced site was
placed in the PHS/EHD Local Oversight Program (LOP) in December 1994.
PHS/EHD has completed review of the Corrective Action Plan (CAP) prepared by Touchstone
Developments dated August 1996 which contains a proposal/work plan (WP) to conduct
overexcavation of contaminated soil and perform on site soil aeration. PHS/EHD will allow these
remedial measures provided Chevron obtains the necessary permits from the San Joaquin Valley
Unified Air Pollution Control District and the work is performed in accordance with all applicable
requirements.
Groundwater contamination has been documented at this site in monitoring wells previously
installed and sampled. These wells must continue to be monitored/sampled and analytical results
submitted to this office as required until site closure is granted with no further action.
If you have any further questions regarding this matter, contact Harlin Knoll at (209) 468-3442.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Harlin Knoll, Senior REHS Margare
Lagono, REHS
Site Mitigation Unit Lead Senior
HK508aera
cc CVRWQCB
cc SWRCB Cleanup Fund
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
