0 • <br />Ms. Vicki McCartney <br />April 21, 2005 <br />Page 2 <br />• The completion of three groundwater monitoring wells screened across first - <br />encountered groundwater. <br />• The completion of one deep groundwater monitoring well. <br />• The completion of a sensitive receptor survey within a one-half mile radius of the <br />site. <br />• The completion of a file review for available EHD files pertaining to private well <br />permits and LUST sites within a one-half mile radius of the site. <br />A summary of the field and laboratory procedures to be used during field assessment <br />activities is included in Attachment 1. The specific scope of work is discussed below: <br />SITE HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN <br />As required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) Standard <br />"Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response" guidelines (29 Code of Federal <br />Regulations Section 1910.120), and by California Occupational Health and Safety <br />Administration (Cal -OSHA) "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response' <br />guidelines (California Code of Regulations Title 8, Section 5192), SECOR will prepare, or <br />modify the existing, site-specific health and safety plan (SHSP) prior to the commencement <br />of field work. The project manager, field staff and contractors will review and sign the <br />SHSP before beginning field operations at the site. <br />ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES <br />Assessment activities will consist of the following: 1) the completion of approximately <br />twelve CPT borings and twelve direct push borings to assess soil lithology and stratigraphy; <br />2) the collection of discrete soil and groundwater samples for chemical analysis from the <br />direct push locations; 3) the installation of three shallow and one deep groundwater <br />monitoring wells, 4) the completion of a sensitive receptor survey within a one-half mile <br />radius of the site; and 5) a review of EHD files for leaking underground storage tanks <br />(LUST) sites and private wells installed in the immediate vicinity of the subject site. <br />Permitting <br />All applicable permits will be obtained from the City of Stockton and San Joaquin County, <br />as necessary, prior to drilling. <br />N:\F i les\Projects\Chevron\Retail\#9-2033\REPORTS\2005Add n'IAssessm entW orkP I an. d oc <br />
