R � <br /> ATTACHMENT A <br /> FIELD PROCEDURES <br /> Chevron Service Station 9-2033, 508 West Charter Way, Stockton, California <br /> Health and Safety <br /> As required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) Standard <br /> "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response" guidelines (29 CFR 1910 120), and <br /> by California Occupational Health and Safety Adm-mistration (Cal-OSHA) "Hazardous <br /> Waste Operations and Emergency Response" guidelines (CCR Title 8, Section 5192), <br /> SECOR will prepare a Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan for use during fieldwork The <br /> field staff and contractors will review the Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan before <br /> beginning field operations at the site <br /> CPT Borings and Groundwater Sampling <br /> The CPT soil bonngs will be advanced using a direct push cone penetrometer testing (CPT) <br /> ng Borings will be logged by CPT Discrete groundwater samples will be collected in <br /> selected intervals based on stratigraphy and field analytical data Samples will be collected <br /> using a hydro-punch and a stainless steel or Teflon bailer lowered into accumulated <br /> groundwater in each boring, then retrieved and transferred into laboratory supplied <br /> containers The sample containers will be placed on ice for transport to the laboratory <br /> accompanied by chain-of-custody documentation Down-hole boring and sampling <br /> equipment will be steam-cleaned prior to and following the completion of each soil boring <br /> Down-hole sampling equipment will be washed in a tri-sodium phosphate or AlconoxTM <br /> solution between samples <br /> Well Destruction <br /> Monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2, if it is determined that they are screened through two <br /> water-beanng zones, will be destroyed by pressure grouting from the bottom up, and then <br /> drilling out the top five feet of each well The wells will have the well boxes removed and <br /> will be finished to surface grade with cement <br /> Exploratory Drilling <br /> The soil borings will be drilled using an 8-inch hollow-stem auger drilling equipment to <br /> depths to be determined by field logs A SECOR representative using the Unified Soil <br /> Classification System and standard geologic techniques will log continuous samples from <br /> each boring Soil samples for logging will be collected continuously using either a 5-foot dry <br /> �I <br />
