ATTACHMENT A <br /> FIELD PROCEDURES (CONTINUED) <br /> Chevron Service Station 9-2033, 508 West Charter Way, Stockton, California <br /> core or using a California-modified split-spoon sampler The sampler will be driven a <br /> maximum of 18 inches using a 140-pound hammer with a 30-inch drop All soil samples for <br /> chemical analysis will be retained in brass liners, capped with Teflon squares and plastic end <br /> caps, and sealed in clean zip-lock bags The samples will be placed on ice for transport to the <br /> laboratory accompanied by chain-of-custody record Down-hole drilling and sampling <br /> equipment will be steam-cleaned pnor to and following completion of each sample interval <br /> Laboratory Procedures for Soil Samples <br /> Selected soil samples collected will be analyzed for the presence of TPHg, BTEX, and <br /> MtBE, D1PE, TAME,EtBE, TBA, EDB, 1,2-DCA, ethanol, and methanol by EPA Method <br /> 8260B <br /> Laboratory Procedures for Groundwater Samples <br /> Groundwater samples will be analyzed for the presence of TPHg, BTEX, MtBE, DIPE, <br /> TAME, EtBE, TBA, EDB, 1,2-DCA, ethanol, and methanol by EPA Method 8260B <br /> Soil Cuttings and Rinsate Water <br /> Soil cuttings generated during drilling operations will be temporarily stored onsite and <br /> covered with plastic sheeting pending charactenzation and disposal Chevron's disposal <br /> contractor will remove soil cuttings to an appropriate disposal facility Water generated <br /> during steam cleaning will be temporanly stored in DOT-approved 55-gallon drums pending <br /> transport by Chevron's disposal contractor to an appropriate disposal or treatment facility <br /> Soil cuttings and ansate water drums will be temporarily stored onsite for approximately 4 to <br /> 8 weeks <br /> Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation and Sampling <br /> The borings will be converted to a groundwater monitoring wells by installing 2-inch <br /> diameter, flush-threaded, Schedule 40 PVC casing with 0 020-inch factory-slotted screen <br /> Screen intervals will be determined from the CPT logs A grade of sand appropriate to the <br /> screen size will be placed in the annular space across the entire screened interval, and will <br /> extend approximately 1 foot above the top of the screen for each well A bentonite seal will <br /> extend three feet above the sand pack The monitoring wells will be completed with neat <br /> 2 <br />
