.� feet in width by 38 feet long and 19 feet in the deepest portion Final UST excavation limits and samples are shown an Figure 4 Sample depths and chemical summaries are found in Table E Pump Island Overexcavation Additional excavation was performed in each of the three pump islands on September 11 , 1996 (Figure 3 ) to address hydrocarbon impact detected in samples from the piping removal on September 9 , 1996 Final overexcavation activities were performed on October 9 , 1996 (Figure 4 ) The northern most pump island was excavated to approximately 13 feet wide, 21 feet in length and 7 feet in depth Two excavation bottom samples designated PXB5 and PXB6 were collected as shown in Figure 3 . Chemical analytical results and depths are summarized in Table C On October 9 , 1996 additional soil was removed and excavated laterally a couple of feet to the west and south, and vertically to approximately 12 feet bgs . Another sample designated OX1 was collected from the excavation bottom beneath the former sample PXB6 Final overexcavation limits and sample locations are shown in Figure 4, final excavation sample analytical results are summarized in Table E (Figure 4/Table • E) . The cener pump island next to the former Kiosk was also overexcavated on September 11 , 1996 to approximately 12 feet in width, 20 feet in length and 6 feet deep. Two samples designated PXB3 and PXB4 were collected along the excavation bottom as shown in figure 3 . Chemical analytical results and depths are summarized in Table C On October 9 , 1996 the excavation was extended vertically along the eastern portion of the excavation to approximately 11 feet in depth. Sample OX2 was then collected from the excavation bottom beneath former sample PXB3 as shown in Figure 4/Table E . The southern most pump island was overexcavated in the former dispenser area and along the piping trench running back towards the former UST complex. The excavation measured approximately 15 feet in width, 40 feet long and 6 to 7 feet in depth. Soil samples designated PXB1 , PXB2 and PXB7 were collected from the excavation bottom, and samples designated PXS1 , PXS2 and PXS3 were collected from the excavation sidewalls at depths of 5 to 6 feet bgs as shown in Figure 3 . The soil in the vicinity of PXB7 appeared to have an oily stain and odor. An additional fuel fingerprint was requested from the laboratory on selected samples .
