DOCUMENT REVIEW, THE TRANSMISSION STORE, 515 WEST CHARTER WAY,
STOCKTON, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY (REGIONAL BOARD CASE # 390891)
reviewed the Remedial Well Installation Work Plan (Workplan), received 30 April 2013 from
your consultant Advanced GeoEnviron mental Inc. (AGE). The Workplan was written in
response to my 11 April 2013 letter (Letter) that requested the Workplan for the two additional
air sparge wells (SP -6A and SP -7A) in the plume core to the south of the existing AS system as
previously recommended in the 9 April 2013 AGE email, and also requested:
• The new AS wells installation and plumbing into the AS system by 30 June 2013,
• Continued air sparging in the interim (The Letter stopped soil vapor extraction),
• Submittal of a remediation status report with recommendations as necessary in the
semi-annual groundwater monitoring report due 30 July 2013, and
• Monthly email status reports received by the 15th of each month (May 15th, June 15th, etc.)
on the progress towards modifying the AS treatment system until further notice.
The two 2" diameter polyvinyl chloride (PVC) wells will be screened from 43' below ground
surface (bgs) to 45' bgs, and connected by 1" PVC pipe to the existing AS system air
compressor. The Workplan also compared AS versus In -Situ Chemical Oxidation and/or Batch
Groundwater Extraction in a feasibility study, which concluded installation of SP -6A and SP -7A
as the most cost effective method to address the area of significant groundwater contamination.
The Workplan is approved, and is necessary and appropriate to optimize the AS system.
Please contact me at least three working days prior to start of the fieldwork. If you have any
questions, you may call me at (916) 464-4615 or email me at jbarton waterboards.ca.gov.
James L. L.
