s •
12 December 2014
AGE Project No. 12-2169
WELL INSTALLATION AND DEVELOPMENT
Proposed pilot borings will be single -completed as shallow and intermediate injection
wells. The proposed injection wells will be screened at depths between approximately
30 and 40 feet bsg and from 50 feet and 65 feet bsg. Depths of the screened intervals
may vary or be reduced overall according to hydrogeologic conditions encountered
during drilling. Following installation, each well will be developed to maximize water flow
and minimize the amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during pumping
or bailing, and to maximize the efficiency of ISCO injections. As built diagrams of the
proposed design of the injection wells and monitoring wells has been included as
Figures 4 and 5.
WELL INSTALLATION REPORT OF FINDINGS
A report documenting the findings of the well installations and development will be
prepared following performance of field work. The report will include a description of
work performed and the results of sampling and analysis. Conclusions and
recommendations will also be included, if applicable in the report. All reports will be in a
format acceptable to CVRWQCB, and will be reviewed and signed by a California
Professional Geologist.
FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of
a California Professional Geologist. Procedures for the well installation and completion,
soil sample collection and analysis, well development and well sampling, and ISCO
injections are described below.
BORING ADVANCEMENT
Utilizing a truck- or track -mounted, hollow -stem drill rig equipped with 8.25 -inch
diameter hollow -stem augers, two pilot borings will be advanced to 40 feet bsg (shallow
injection) and two pilot soil borings will be advanced to a depth of approximately 65 feet
bsg (intermediate injection). Soil samples will not be collected during the installation.
WELL COMPLETION
The pilot soil borings will be completed as shallow and intermediate injection wells
utilizing two-inch diameter, Schedule 40 PVC blank well casing and 0.020 -inch slotted
well screen. For shallow wells screen will be installed from 30 to 40 feet bsg; for deep
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
