Ms Lori Duncan Project No 880-039 IA <br /> June 18, 2003 <br /> Page 5 <br /> Installation of Off-site Cross-gradient and Downgradient Wells <br /> On April 2, 2003, two monitoring wells (MW-2R and MW-3R) were installed at the <br /> locations shown on Figure 2 by Cascade Drilling (C57 #717510) using hollow-stem <br /> auger techniques performed with a linuted access drill rig The two well borings were <br /> drilled to a total depth of 30 feet bgs Soil samples were collected from the well borings <br /> at 5-foot intervals for description and possible chemical analysis The monitoring wells <br /> 1 are constructed of 2-inch-diameter Schedule 40 PVC casing and 0 020-inch <br /> machine-slotted well screen The wells are screened from approximately 15 to 30 feet <br /> bgs The annular space around the screen is packed with RMC Pacific #3 sand to <br /> 1 approximately 2 feet above the top of screen The sandpack is followed by a 2-foot seal <br /> of hydrated bentonite chips, then neat cement grout to approximately 1-foot bgs The <br /> tops of the wells are protected by vault boxes and locking well caps The vault boxes are <br /> installed flush with the ground surface, and are set in concrete <br /> Three soil samples from each well boring were submitted to a laboratory for the analysis <br /> of TPHg by EPA Method 8015B, and BTEX, DIPE, ETBE, MtBE, TAME, TBA, <br /> 1,2-DCA, and EDB, by EPA Method 8260B <br /> Shaw developed newly installed wells MW-2R, MW-3R, and MW-4R (S&D) on <br /> April 10, 2003 Field data collected during well development are included in <br /> Attachment C <br /> Upon completion of well construction, Morrow Surveying, a licensed surveyor, surveyed <br /> the newly installed wells for location and elevation relative to mean sea level The <br /> longitude and latitude locations of the wells were also obtained The survey data will be <br /> uploaded into the State's Geotracker database, as required The surveyor's report is <br />' included at Attachment D <br /> Air Sparge Testing <br /> Shaw conducted an air sparge test on April 8, 2003 The SVE system was operating <br /> during the sparge test Vapors were being extracted from vadose wells VW-2S and <br /> 11SACRFPJICOMMONIsacDP120031P9V8018800391A 3ae doc <br />
