Wit TA;- { r 1A i iii a di vlsioxt of /^` <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS ��„ �� y L,� _ ka <br /> Emcon UJ <br /> December 3, 1998 <br /> Project 2613-100 03 <br /> Mr Don Rodgers <br /> 11900 South Union Road <br /> Manteca, California 95336 <br /> Re Third Quarter 1998 Status Report for The Transmission Shop, Located at <br /> 515 West Charter Way, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Rodgers <br /> At your request, Pinnacle Environmental Solutions (Pinnacle), a division of EMCON, currently <br /> performs quarterly groundwater monitoring at the subject site (see Figure 1) Pinnacle has prepared <br /> this status report on the work conducted during the third quarter 1998 Work included groundwater <br /> monitoring, which consisted of measuring depth to groundwater and collecting a groundwater <br /> sample from the monitoring well for subjective and laboratory analyses <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Charter Way and Lincoln Street <br /> in Stockton, California (see Figure 1) The property is located in a commercial area and is <br /> currently being used as a transmission repair shop Based on information provided by the San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS), two underground storage tanks (USTs) were <br /> present, and the site was historically used as a retail service station, with gasoline dispensing <br /> activities ceasing sometime in the 1950s It is unknown when one of the USTs and dispenser <br /> islands were removed Thorpe Oil of Lodi, California, removed the second UST in February <br /> 1996 Residual hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected from beneath the UST <br /> However, total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG), as diesel (TPHD), and benzene <br /> were below laboratory detection limits The approximate UST locations relative to site structures <br /> are shown on Figure 2 <br /> In the vicinity of the subject property are several former or current UST facilities a former <br /> ARCO Service Station, a Chevron Service Station, a Texaco Service Station, a former Colombo <br /> bakery, and a former Dolly Madison Based on data collected from subsurface investigations <br /> performed at the former ARCO Service Station, Chevron Station, and Texaco Station (located at <br /> the corners of Charter Way and Lincoln Street), residual and dissolved hydrocarbons have been <br /> detected beneath these facilities, and a commingled petroleum hydrocarbon plume exists beneath <br /> Charter Way and Lincoln Street <br /> CP\D IQMRIRODGERSG3RDQ981RDGRQ398 DOC-98Usg 1 Pim <br /> Rev 0, 12/3/98 <br /> 3939 Cambridge Road Suite 220 Cameron Park California 95682 (530)676 6884, (530)676 6885 Fax •I --I <br /> I <br />
