1 INTRODUCTION
' At the request of Don Rodgers, EMCON conducted a preliminary subsurface investigation
at The Transnussion Shop, located at 515 West Charter Way, Stockton, California The
purpose of this investigation was to evaluate whether site activities associated with the
underground storage tanks (USTs) and fuel dispensers have impacted the soil and
groundwater beneath the site
The work performed included drilling six vertical soil borings, installing one groundwater
monitoring well, developing and purging the monitonng well, installing one vapor
extraction well and three dual completion vapor extraction wells, and collecting soil and
groundwater samples for laboratory analyses of hydrocarbon constituents Data gathered
dunng the investigation were used to evaluate the extent of residual hydrocarbons in soil,
assess whether groundwater underlying the site has been affected by hydrocarbons, and
evaluate the groundwater flow direction and gradient This report summanzes the tasks
performed during this investigation, includes the laboratory results, and presents our
interpretations and conclusions
i
SAC\N\P]2\2613\2613 1000 1 BB 95\116 2 Rev 0 215197
22613 100 001 l_1
