June 10 through 13 and 20, 2002 <br /> Drilling Method: Cone penetration testing(CPT) <br /> Sampling Methods Soils beneath the site were continuously logged using CPT <br /> equipment Encountered lithology is described on the CPT plots <br /> presented in Appendix B Soil samples were collected from <br /> boring CPT-5 at 5-foot intervals beginning at 85 fbg <br /> Groundwater samples were collected from each of the borings <br /> with CPT water sampling equipment at approximate 10-foot <br /> intervals <br /> iNumber of Borings. Seven soil borings (CPT-5 through CPT-11) Boring <br /> specifications are described in Table 1 and locations are shown <br /> on Figure 2 <br /> Boring Depths 79 to 100 fbg <br /> Groundwater Depths: During drilling activities, pore pressure dissipation tests <br /> indicated groundwater depths in the borings ranged from <br /> approximately 19 to 23 fbg This depth to water range is <br /> consistent with recent depth to water measurement in site <br /> monitoring wells <br /> Sediment Lithology Lithology encountered while drilling the borings consisted <br /> primarily of silt (ML) to depths of approximately 68 to 74 fbg, <br /> underlain by sand (SP), silty sand (SM), and silt (ML) to the <br /> total explored depth of 100 fbg (Appendix B) <br /> Chemical Analyses Soil and groundwater samples were analyzed for TPHg, <br /> benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX), and the fuel <br /> oxygenates methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary amyl <br /> 0778 3 <br />
