C A M B R I A
methyl ether(TAME), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl
ether (DUPE), and ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE) by EPA
Method 8260B
HYDROCARBON DISTRIBUTION IN SOIL
No TPHg, benzene,or fuel oxygenates (including MTBE)were detected in soil samples collected
from boring CPT-5
Soil chenucal analytical data are summarized in Table 2 and presented on Figure 2 Laboratory
analytical data are presented in Appendix C
HYDROCARBON DISTRIBUTION IN GROUNDWATER
TPHg and benzene were detected in groundwater from borings CPT-5 and CPT-9 through
CPT-11 at concentrations up to 4,400 ppb and 3,200 ppb, respectively The highest
concentrations for both TPHg and benzene were detected at 65 fbg in boring CPT-11 MTBE
was detected in groundwater from borings CPT-6 and CPT-8 through CPT-11 at concentrations
up to 36 ppb No other fuel oxygenates were detected in groundwater collected from any of the
soil borings
Groundwater chemical analytical data are summarized in Table 3 and presented on Figure 2
Laboratory analytical data are presented in Appendix C
CONCLUSIONS
Soil and groundwater results from boring CPT-5, drilled near the existing UST location,
delineate the vertical extent of TPHg, benzene, and MTBE in this area s
Groundwater analytical data collected from borings CPT-6 through CPT-8 define the lateral ,
extent of petroleum hydrocarbons to the west, southwest, and south of the source area
Groundwater samples from the CPT-9 through CPT-11 contained primarily TPHg and benzene
and to a lesser extent MTBE The highest concentrations of gasoline constituents were detected
at depths ranging from 65 to 73 fbg The highest TPHg and benzene concentrations were
detected east of the former USTs in boring CPT-11 at 65 fbg
0778 4
