' 20 December 2001
AGE-NC Project No 97-0326
IPage 3 of
' 3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected In samples collected from MW 1,MW2 and MW3 at concentrations of 120,000
I micrograms per liter (gg/1), 72,000 gg/l and 190,000 gg/l, respectively Benzene was detected In
samples from MW 1, MW2 and MW3 at concentrations of 2,600 µg/1, 9,900 gg/l and 18,000 µg/1,
respectively Toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes were detected at concentrations as high as
' 23,000 gg/l, 5,200 µg11 and 26,000 gg/l, respectively(MW3)
MTBE was detected in ground water samples from MW-1 and MW-3,the highest concentration was
' 320 gg/l in MW-1 No other oxygenated compounds were detected in the samples analyzed
' Analytical results of the ground water samples for the third quarter - 2001 monitoring event are
summarized on Table 2 The laboratory report (MAI Laboratory ID 78857-78859), QA/QC report
and chain-of-custody form are included u1 Appendix B
I
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE finds
• The inferred ground water flow direction at the site has been toward the south during the
I seven monitoring events conducted, although the historical ground water flow direction at
the adjacent site to the east(USA), and at the Monti Brothers site at the southeast corner of
' East Charter Way and Grant Street, has been toward the east or northeast
• High concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in ground water samples
' collected from all three monitoring wells on the site (see Figures 3 to 5)
• Neither the vertical nor horizontal extent of impacted ground water has been delineated at
the site
' 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of this investigation, AGE recommends
' • Continuation of quarterly ground water monitoring, as required by the PHS-EHD
• Installation of additional monitoring wells to monitor impacted ground water as outlined in
the Work Plan Addendum -September 1999, prepared by AGE, and approved by the PHS-
EHD
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Joe
