(KEI)
collected sail samples following the removal of one 9, 0O0
gallon unleaded gasoline tank, one S, Odo gallon super
unleaded tank, and two 5, 400 gallon unleaded gasoline tanks.
Six soil samples, labeled A(IULN) , A(I,ULS) , B(2ULN) ,
B(2ULS) , C(3LN) and C(3LS) , were collected at a depth of
approximately 16 feet in the fuel tank pit, and one pipe
trench sample, labeled P1., was collected at a depth of
approximately 4 feet.
On November 15, 1989, KEI returned to the site to collect
two more soil samples, labeled D(4I.N) and D(4LS) at a depth
of approximately 15 fact in the fuel tank pit. All soil
samples were analyzed by Sequoia Analytical Laboratory in
Redwood City, California, for total petroleum hydrocarbons
(TPH) as gasoline, and benzene, toluene, xylenes and
ethylbenzene (BTX&E) . In addition, the samples from beneath
the leaded fuel tanks and the pipe trench sample were
analyzed for ethylene dibromzde (EDB) and organic lead
(TEL) . Analytical results of the sail samples taken from
the fuel tank pit showed TPH as gasoline ranging from non-
detectable to 3 , 600 ppm, and benzene ranging from non-
detectable to 12 ppm. The pipe trench sample showed non-
detectable levels of all constituents analyzed. The
analytical results of the soil samples are summarized in
Table 1. Sample point locations etre shown on the attached
Site Plan.
