indicates there has been no lateral contaminate migration in the
vadose zone from this site towards the west. Attached are
Figures 3 to 6 which show the Flame Ionization Detector reading
contours of soils at 4 different soil levels. These readings also
support the presents of another plume.
CONCLUSIONS
We conclude another groundwater plume exists which is migrating
on to this site.
Our Work Plan dated March 15, 1995 proposed drilling and
' constructing several vapor extraction wells to be connected to
the already existing manifold system. Vapor extraction will
treat the contamination in the unsaturated zone and probably will
have an effect of the contamination in the groundwater. However,
I with another gasoline plume entering this property the
possibility of remediating the plume on this site is not
completely possible, as long as the other plume continues to
Imigrates onto the site.
We believe recognition of the existence of this plume by your
Department is important. This will effect our cleanup levels
both in the saturated and unsaturated zone. The unsaturated zone
will be effected by off-gassing of the contaminants from the
other plume. We are awaiting your reply.
Yours truly,
+ N'
c
t l
' John Cussen ,
Reg.
