MtBE was detected in wells BM-1, BM-2, BM-3, BM-4 and BM-5 TBA tertiary Butanol
was found in wells BM-1 ,BM-3, BM-7 and 13M-9 The presence of MtBE is an indication
that it is migrating to this site from the Stations to the west of us This statement is also
proven by the fact that this well water has no TPH or BTEX chemicals in it If the MtBE
came from a leak in the tanks near this well we would expect to see both of these
chemical groups since MtBE is an additive delivered by gasoline The only explanation
possible is that the MtBE is located below the water table surface
' Dissolved oxygen levels were recorded this quarter at this site The levels were
measured with a calibrated YSt model 51 B meter by placing the sensor 5 feet below the
surface of the water table after the bailing of the wells The measured levels are shown
on Table 3A and on Figure 5
As requested to the EHD letter dated January 10, 2000, a plot of the wells and the old and
Inew piping runs of the dispenser lines is shown in Figure 6
VAPOR EXTRACTION SYSTEM
This site has been under remediation since July 1997 A total of 44,681 pounds of
gasoline has been removed since the beginning of this project See Table 5 and Figure 7
I
Conclusions
4 We will continue to monitor this site The next monitoring event will take place in July
2001
We request that wells BM-6 and BM-8 no longer be sampled during the quarterly
monitoring These wells are located next to wells 13M-2 and BM-13, which are shallow
wells where the water is sampled from the surface to 45 feet, where as BM-6 and 13M-8
are deep wells and samples are taken from water which is below 45 feet
Yours truly,
Ic, D GEpI
/John Cussen ,rH C11 ,
RG #6506
Enclosures ¢
8 Tables
7 Figures OF
2 Laboratory Reports and Chain of Custody's
13 Sample Sheets
cc Mr Roger Liston, Darpetro, Inc
Mr G L Boggs, RWQCB
I
