• Introduction
This site has been operational since January 26, 1990 On November 14, 1989 three
underground gasoline tanks were removed Soil samples of the dirt around the tank pit were
found to be contaminated with gasoline
The contaminated water was found to be flowing to the northeast The contaminated plume has
moved to the northeast Wells have been drilled over the property and northeast and east of the
property The most easterly well is BM-11 which is located on Aurora Street one block east of
Grant Street One well BM-9 was placed east of the neighboring gas station Three bonngs were
placed on the property and two hydropunch bonngs were placed on the Sun Gardens property to
the west of this site
SITE HISTORY
On November 14, 1989 three tanks were removed at this site and three fiberglass tanks were
installed The laboratory results taken at the time of removal tested positive for gasoline
hydrocarbon contamination
On December 19, 1989 an Electromagnetic Induction Survey was conducted on the site to aid the
investigation of the aerial extent of the contaminated sod and in planning the position of the
monitoring wells
. In January 1990 three monitoring wells (BM-1, BM-2 and BM-3) were installed They were
reported in our report dated February 9, 1990
i
In March and April 1992, three more monitoring wells (BM-4, BM-5 and BM-6) were installed
They were necessary because the groundwater had fallen below the depth of the original wells
This work was reported in our report dated April 30, 1992
In July 1993 we installed two additional monitoring wells (BM-7 and BM-8) and dnlled one boring
(B-1) This work was reported in our report dated August 24, 1993
In September 1994, we installed three additional monitoring wells (BM-9, BM-10 and BM-11)
This work was reported in our report dated October 10, 1994
On June 19, 1995 we drilled two hydropunch borings (HP-1 and HP-2) they were reported in our
Activity Report dated June 30, 1995
In February and March, 1996 five vapor extraction wells, one air sparging well and one boring
were installed at this site This work was reported in our report dated March 19, 1996
In April 1996 we drilled two additional CPT borings (HP-3 and HP-5) They were reported in our
report dated June 10, 1996
In July 1999, we drilled an additional monitoring well (BM-12) and a vapor bonng to 80 feet, which
was completed for a vapor extraction well, (VW-7) They were reported in our report dated August
5, 1999
