Charter Way, Stockton, CA <br /> County Site Code: 1061; USTCFP Claim#6793 <br /> Dear Ms. Sanborn: <br /> In an April 24, 2002 letter, San Joaquin County directed that additional monitoring wells be <br /> installed to define the lateral extent of soil and groundwater contamination at the site, located at <br /> Morita Brothers, 814 E. Charter Way, Stockton, California. <br /> To accomplish this directive, Geological Technics Inc. (GTI) prepared a work plan dated June <br /> 27, 2002 with subsequent addendum regarding well placement and design issues. San Joaquin <br /> County approved the work plan in a correspondence dated October 23, 2002. <br /> Summary of Current Corrective Action Proposal <br /> 1. San Joaquin County Public Health Services/Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) <br /> issued an April 24,2002 directive for additional plume definition. <br /> 2. GTI submitted June 27, 2002 work plan for four shallow, four intermediate and three deep <br /> screened monitoring wells to be placed both on and off site. <br /> 3. In a September 3, 2002 correspondence, PHS/EHD disapproved June 27, 2002 work plan <br /> and directed that changes be submitted in an addendum to the plan. <br /> 4. On October 3, 2002 GTI submitted an addendum incorporating changes to meet the San <br /> Joaquin County directives. <br /> 5. In an October 23, 2002 correspondence, PHS/EHD approved the GTI June 27, 2002 and <br /> October 3,2002 addendum. <br /> Copies of the work plan and addendum's to the Work Plan, SJC PHS/EHD correspondence, <br /> drilling bids and an itemized budget spreadsheet of costs for performing this work are enclosed <br /> for your review. <br />
