Weber Street
Stockton, CA 95202
Re: Morita Bros., 814 E. Charter Way; Site Code 1061
As instructed by your office, we have enclosed a workplan for placing two (2)
groundwater monitoring wells in an attempt to further define the extent of
contamination associated with the above site.and the one across the street on
the Darpetro property. One well is programmed to be located at the west edge
of the Morita site, (MW-4); the other one on the property to the east (MW-5.)
We had originally located MW-5 in the parking strip on city property, but you
wanted it moved farther south onto private property. Mr. Morita will contact the
owners and attempt to get permission for placing the well on their site. If those
negotiations are unsuccessful, we will contact your office for assistance.
Once we receive approval of the workplan, we will obtain the necessary
easements and permits from the City of Stockton. When all permits are
received, we will solicit bids from qualified vendors and submit a pre-approval
package to the Cleanup Fund. When that is received, we will submit drilling
permit applications and schedule the work.
We will also try to coordinate sampling dates with the Darpetro site in order to
obtain data that can be used to analyze levels of contamination more accurately.
If you have any questions concerning the workplan, please contact our office at
your nvf4enoe.
ter ates
Cc: nk Morita ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION
304 E.Weber Ave.Third Floor
P. 0.
