Remediation Steps Morita Brothers have retained Wm. <br /> Hunter and Associates and Jim Thorpe Oil, Inc. to continue <br /> the cleanup project. After consultation with SJPHS/EHD, Jim <br /> Thorpe Oil, Inc. and Wm. Haunter, Morita Brothers have decided � <br /> to remove as much of the contamination located beneath the <br /> tank pit and pipeline areas as possible by over excavation. <br /> The proposed excavation will expand the perimeters of the <br /> existing excavation by 5 feet in all directions and to a <br /> . depth of between 113 and 20 feet. The resulting excavation <br /> will be approximately 35 feet wide by 40 feet long by IS to <br /> 20 feet deep. The pipeline excavation will start at the <br /> north end of the former pump island and extend south to the <br /> perimeter of the tank excavation a distance of approximately <br /> 50 feet. This excavation will be approximately 6 feet deep <br /> and 6 feet wide. The total amount of soil excavated will be <br /> approximately 700 cubic yards, including the spoil from the <br /> soil borings and the water monitoring wells stored in drums <br /> on site. -The water contained in the three drums acquired <br /> during installation of the water monitoring wells is to be <br /> taken by NOR CAL_ waste o i 1 haulers and disposed of properly. <br /> A copy of the manifest will be included in the final report. <br /> -5- <br />
